It's typewritten so I have no idea of the source. I'm going to share it exactly the way she gave it to me. It made me feel like I was sitting beside her - sigh. CHECKED PUFFED SLIPPERS 2 - 2 oz.skeins 4-ply, two colors say white and colored. Pr needles 8 Starting at Heel: Cast on 60 sts with colored. 1st Row (rite side) with white knit 5, drop, pick up colored and knit 5. On 1st stitch pull it up so puffs in back. Repeat across row. 2nd Row: With colored, knit 5, I twist yarn at beginning of rows. Drop colored, pick up white and repeat across. Just keeping in mind to pull up stitch (puff) in first stitch of next color. Repeat after 4 rows, reverse checks. Make 10-12 checks for length kneeded. Every so often I let knitting drop so as to untangle. These are easily adjusted, have width divided by 10. After length you want, I knit 2 together for row or two, then use yarn kneedle pull up tight, sew up maybe 4 checks for instep. For back fold in half and seam up. Put pom pom on instep. Men say leave balls off mine but I do like them. This is your pattern now, so no credit is due. End quote These are pretty nifty slippers, thick and cushy and are quite pretty. Have fun!
